Goodbye Nerchio

Today we have to announce that we are parting from our Polish Starcraft player Artur "Nerchio" Bloch, furthermore we will be closing the Starcraft 2 section at EURONICS Gaming.

Over 2 years ago, we made our first steps in Starcraft 2, naming Nerchio and Firecake as our pro players in this section. From there, we had a great time with our Starcraft players who were always able to bring great results home.

Today we part with Artur "Nerchio" Bloch, who has proved during this time that he is one of the best players in the world! With a great placement at the IEM Katowice in 2016, he secured over the year repeatedly top results on the WCS and Dreamhack stages in the world. The culmination was the victory of Dreamhack Valencia 2016!

Nerchio also prevailed at other tournaments, such as the popular HomeStory Cup at TakeTV, here he secured himself a top 4 placement. He made the trip to Anaheim to Blizzcon and participated in the World Championshop in Starcraft 2. Both in 2016 and 2017, his extraordinary consistency in many tournaments is to be emphasized. In these 2 years, he managed 7 out of 8 times to qualify for the WCS tournaments to have a better starting point for the tournament. At the tournaments he succeeded "only" once the victory, but he was always in the top positions at every tournament. This is really a phenomenal achievement! Apart from the major tournaments, Nerchio could also win countless smaller tournaments like the Corsair Cup, Go4SC2 or local tournaments in Poland. In 2017, the 2nd place in the WCS tournament in Austin and the renewed participation in the Blizzcon were again an exclamation point for the class of Nerchio. In the still young year 2018, he was able to qualify immediately for the WCS tournament in Leipzig as well as for the IEM Katowice.

Due to internal restructuring at EURONICS Gaming, we had to choose to retire from Starcraft 2. We wish Artur "Nerchio" Bloch all the best and good luck both for his career and in private life!

It is always a little bit sad to part ways with the team that you have been with for so long and I think 2 years is quite a long time in esports. I am grateful for the opportunity that EURONICS Gaming gave me for the past 2 years. I believe 2016 was the best year in my career so far and Euronics played a big role in that. I want to thank them for being a part of my Starcraft 2 journey until this moment and I wish them all the best in the future.

- Nerchio, Starcraft 2 Player

To part from Nerchio and thus the elimination of the Starcraft 2 area is really difficult for me. I admire Artur for his achievements and motivation that he has shown in his career so far. For me personally, Starcraft is one of the hardest competitive titles in esports. It should not be forgotten that this title brought the first big events in esport to the stage before other titles like CS:GO, DotA or LoL passed by the RTS section. I wish Nerchio all the best on his journey in life. Many athletes should look up to Nerchio and learn a lot from him!
